Nik Greenacre

Meet Nik! A former science teacher from London turned full-time stay-at-home mum of two, Nik is on a mission to homestead without a homestead. Her journey began in a small, north-facing flat with a yoghurt pot, a determined toddler, and a single tomato plant—and from that tiny start, a passion for self-sufficiency was born. Now renting two allotments, Nik raises chickens from eggs and has even ventured into raising meat chickens and turkeys, all while dreaming of one day owning a full-fledged homestead.

Nik inspires others to turn their homesteading dreams into a reality—no matter where they’re starting from. Through her journey to where she is now she has learnt to can, ferment and grow good quality produce to sustain her family. She now spends her day baby-wearing her youngest while tending to her plants, Nik shows that with a bit of creativity and determination, you can build a homesteading life anywhere. Her warmth, humour, and hands-on approach make her a relatable and inspiring guide for anyone looking to live a more sustainable life with or without a homestead.
